Chad Hinman, a Gorge native and Head Chef/Owner of Broder Øst began his journey in the restaurant industry at a young age, starting at other local restaurants in High School. Chad became part of the Broder family back in 2007 when Swedish restauranteur, Peter Bro opened his first location Broder Cafe on SE Clinton St. in Portland, OR. Peter hired him to be a server and eventually took over as Manager when the second location, Broder Nord on N Interstate opened in 2013. A third location was opened in the Nordia House on SW Oleson Rd. Broder Söder, in 2015.
Chad always wanted to return to the Gorge where his culinary journey first began. Peter Bro suggested he bring Broder to the Columbia River Gorge; a partnership was born and Broder Øst opened their doors. Located within the Historic Hood River Hotel down town on Oak St.
